In this work we examine the historical development of some Leonardo da Vinci’ Manuscripts and his particular studies - not paint works (c.d. Codici). We are interested to understand his important role (theoretical and practice) played in the history of architecture and structural mechanics during the Renaissance. Based on previous works of one of us, let’s examine Leonardo’ approach to argue on constructive and design problems, putting in evidence Leonardo’ attempt to elaborate a synthesis between theoretical science and practice, as well; and his tendency to an interdisciplinary issue research, able to involve different topics of knowledge, and their respective fields of applicability.
